Miscellaneous News and Notes about Magnapop
- The recent spring '03 European tour went very well. (Check out the pictures now online.) Well enough that they've decided to try and take another run at the Magnapop thing and they're working on new material. They're even working on a new Magnapop website and have setup an email address: magnapoppies@aol.com.
- Ruthie's recently been playing in a Seattle band called New Candidates. They've released a limited edition 7" that you can purchase at Mt. Fuji Records. While in Seattle, Ruthie also lent her support to the local indie publication Three Imaginary Girls at the Rockstar Suicide Karaoke 1st Birthday Party.
- Shannon has been playing in an Atlanta band called the HOTS. Check out their website for news, mp3s, show dates, etc.
- And David McNair, original Magnapop drummer, is playing in the Atlanta band The Indicators. Check out their site for lots of good info.
- The Oh OK reissue that was in the works for a while has finally been released. You can get all the details and order online here.
- Linda, Ruthie, and Shannon played the 2002 SXSW music festival in Austin, TX. The band played a show at Momo's on 6th Street Friday March 15 and then did an in-store performance at Tower Records on Saturday the 16th. Joining the group on drums was Ruthie's friend from Seattle and New Candidates bandmate - Curtis.
- On March 2, '99, Vital Cog records released the compilation cd, Pet Sounds, Vol. 1, to benefit ALTER - a non-profit organization promoting the well-being of animals. The cd contains the Magnapop song Cherry Bomb.
